| When KBGN went on the air in October of 1960, it was the very first
station in Idaho that was dedicated totally to Christian programming. With the vision
of Harold and Gene Shaw and Evangelist Dempsey Mylar, KBGN was first broadcast at
910 AM from studios which have continued to develop on Chicago Street in Caldwell . In
1976, after Pastors Dick and Ed Shaw assumed ownership, the transmitters and tower were
moved to make room for a new Caldwell airport and we began broadcasting at 1060 AM with a
power increase to 10,000 Watts. Always a family owned facility, with ownership transferring to Nels and Karen Wilson in 1989, KBGN continues as a vital family ministry, dedicated to obediently spreading the good news of Jesus Christ to Southwest Idaho and Eastern Oregon. |
